A Day In the Life of the Unemployeed

In 2010, you can't really go door to door applying for jobs. It's all on the internet. So I spend the majority of my days in my pjs watching Top Model reruns and scouring the internet for jobs. Monster.com, Craigslist, yahoo, even the news paper. I have probably sent my resume to at least 30 places. It defintely is getting discouraging, but I can't let it get me down. Sitting home being sad isn't an option, so here's an idea of some of the activities that I indulge in while waiting for that magical interview call.

I bake! It's fairly inexpensive, thereputic, and is a great excuse to call your (employed) friends to come over.

I make friends at the dog beach!

I take advantage of local attraction discounts, like the zoo!

I also do my nails almost daily and am slowly working up the courage to take outfit photos. But I don't want to overload y'all. I figure I'd do some filler "getting yo know you", er, me posts in between the action-packed days in my life.

Salutations/Starting Over

I have been wanted to start a personal blog for ages now, but I just could never seem to find the motivation for it, plus I am seriously lacking in the html/coding/whatever skills. Hopefully someday soon I can trade sexual favors for a fancy new layout. Just kidding. Maybe.

But that is besides the point. The point is that I feel like I am at a perfect place in my life to begin documenting it. The place is perfect because my life is currently, for a lack of a better word, shit. I am currently jobless, living with my mom and stepdad, and still don't have my college degree. Loser, I know. I could see this as the end of my life and be miserible/depressed/mopey. I could see things that way.

However I have decided to go in the oposite direction and see this as the beginning. Kind of like being reborn. At this point having nothing means I can have and do anything! So I have decided to use this blog to document my life, and getting it back on track. This means finding a job, moving back out on my own, and hopefully getting a degree in something! (I've got six years of college under my belt. Don't judge.) I'm also into fashion and adventures, so I plan to post those aspects of my life as well.

I guess the jist of this post is to let you know that I am an average girl, one of those current statistics of a Gen Y lost in the world. Hopefully my trials and tribulations can inspire others to see the light and realize there is hope, or at the very least make you feel better about yourselves.

Sorry for such a text-heavy first post, but I how do you start a story without, "Once Upon a Time..."?

Oh and by the way, this is me:

Major case of sadface, eh? Don't worry, I'll cheer up! I'm 25, an omviore (eating habits are so HOT right now, lol), I love hot sauce, roller coasters, and horror movies. I have a pet guinea pig named Barry Goldstein.
And that's the basics on me right now. I plan on future posts being more picture/less text heavy to keep your little eyes entertained. Hopefully.

xox for now,
Collorious
